Our updated maps for the new mathematics curriculum have been released!
Brand new child-friendly maths targets for the new 2014 curriculum. The entire maths curriculum for each Year group has been broken down into targets or statements in each content domain: Number and Place Value, Operations, Fractions, Geometry, Measure and Statistics. Each maths target is taken directly from the new national curriculum for maths and written in an easy-to-understand way, without losing the specificity of the statement.
Each year group’s targets have been plotted on to a colourful map – a treasure island theme which appeals to boys and girls. Each maths target is contained in a box, with three smaller boxes so teachers can indicate when a target is met. Some schools also use these boxes to show when a pupil is “beginning”, “developing” or “secure”. View a Sample
Increase Parental Engagement
With these Maths Targets, parents are able to understand what a child needs to achieve next better than ever before. They will know exactly what is expected of each year group and will be able to help their child progress, step-by-step. Home learning will become much more effective.
Maths Targets – School Usage
These Maths Target Maps will be under licence of your school to replicate for your own school use. You can print them as individual pupil booklets or as colourful posters. They can also be used as coverage maps so school leaders can be sure that coverage of the National Curriculum is taking place. Teachers who use them report increased confidence that they are teaching at the correct level in this new curriculum. You receive the maps as jpeg and PDF, and also have the maths targets in Microsoft Word and Excel so your can use them in planning or school assessment documents.
